Extra Small SUVs
Volkswagen Taos:
This all-new extra small SUV is the first of the Taos generation introduced for 2022. It offers sharp handling with its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Though it is compact, it has comfortable interiors which are easy to get in and out of. For its size, it has a massive cargo area and advanced tech and safety systems so it’s easily a good pick for a family-friendly car.
Chevrolet Trailblazer:
Introduced in 2021, this competent luxury SUV offers adequate tech and safety features and has light off-road capabilities making it a good option for a camping trip out of town. The seating is roomy and there is plenty of cargo space too. This compact SUV is a comfortable ride at highway speeds and surprisingly, its three-cylinder engine isn’t as noisy as other cars with this design. You get good control of cabin temperature too and the climate control is intuitive and intelligent.
Small SUVs
2023 Mazda CX-50:
This SUV is comfortable, and spacious, and has interiors far above SUVs in this class. Despite its heavy steering, it’s a fun ride with quick acceleration from the range of turbocharged engines. It also has adequate off-road capability for a vehicle this size.
Honda CR-V:
The redesign in 2023 shows us why Honda is a household name. This version has helpful tech and good storage and offers a comfortable, responsive ride. There is adequate legroom in the rear, the suspension is soft and the cabin is well-insulated. While it does reasonably well off-road, its hybrid system is better suited to city driving.
Midsize SUVs
023 Honda Passport:
With a powerful V6 engine, spacious interiors, and comfortable seating, this mid-size sedan is perfect for a family that wants a large vehicle but doesn’t need a 3-seater. The cabin has clever storage facilities, is well-insulated, and has reclining rear seats. The Torque-vectoring all-wheel drive is now standard with Honda.
Midsize 3-Row SUVs
Kia Telluride:
This three-row SUV has luxurious and spacious interiors, advanced tech, and top-of-the-line safety features. For the price point, the driver assist features are quite advanced. It’s a perfect pick for large families.
